The tree plantings are complete, but the party is not over!

June 20, 2011

Over the past two months, fifty-five communities from all over Greater Boston came together to plant thirty-five pairs of heirloom apple trees.  In about four years, this decentralized public urban orchard will produce 10,000-15,000 apples each year!

Though the plantings are done, the party is not over!  We are working on a beautiful printed map of the city-wide orchard, as well as a short documentary film (both will be distributed this fall).    Next spring we will help set up holistic apple tree care workshops with our Official Pomologists and partner organizations — stay tuned!  We are currently fundraising for this next stage of the Boston Tree Party, and we would very much appreciate your support.

Check out below the final list of Tree Party Delegations.  Thank you to everyone!  We wish your trees (and your communities) a happy growing season!
